Time lapse photography is how I fell in love with film in general. I was inspired by Planet Earth’s breathtaking long term time lapses of forests growing or turning color from space, flowers blossoming, and tides turning. An intervalometer was the first accessory I bought after I got my hands on my Nikon D3100 when I was 14, and from there I began experimenting with time lapses. It became a meditation as I traveled across Europe on exchange, forcing me to stop, sit, and appreciate my surroundings for a few hours and literally watch time go by. My longest attempt was a month long, set up from my host family’s rooftop to watch the neighbors trees blossom in spring.
